What is debossing and embossing?
Debossing and embossing are finishing techniques that add a tactile, professional touch to book covers. Embossing raises a design above the surface, while debossing presses it into the cover. Both techniques are perfect for logos, titles, or decorative patterns, giving your book a premium, visually striking appearance.
What Covers can I deboss and Emboss?
All softcovers can be embossed or desbossed, but hardcovers can only be debossed.
How big can I go?
We can deboss or emboss areas as large as the entire cover, though larger blocks can be more costly. To provide an accurate quote, please let us know the size of the area you’d like finished, and we’ll tailor a quote for your project.
How do I set up Emboss and Deboss Blocks?
Emboss and deboss blocks need to be set up in their own print-ready PDF. Artwork should be set up at 100% black and positioned exactly where you want the debossing/embossing to appear on the page. If you’re unsure, contact us — we’re happy to guide you through the setup.
How long does it take?
Most softcover orders are completed in 5 - 7 working days, Hardcover Books in 10 - 15. Need it quicker? - Speak to one of our experts to discuss the possibilities.
